About the Watch
The famous predecessor, the IWC Mark 11 was first produced in 1948. Only one year later, it served as a pilot’s watch for the British Air Force and other Commonwealth states. The legendary Mark 11 was produced for 33 years and served both civilian and military pilots. Even before each individual delivery, the watch was subjected to various tests totalling 648 hours. The tests were designed to ensure navigation with high accuracy of the movement and under various temperature conditions. The IWC Mark also had to withstand magnetic fields. The current model of the watch is based on these characteristics and experiences of the past decades. The Mark XVIII (18) has a diameter of 40mm and a lug width of 20mm.
The black and white design of the dial goes perfectly with a simple black leather strap, such as the Fin-Black watch strap or the Stark-Black Nato strap. The shade of brown of the Espresso-Brown strap brings back a piece of the legendary Mark 11.
