About the Watch

The basis for the Master Control watches was laid in 1946, when Jaeger LeCoultre (JLC in short) launched its first watch with an automatic movement. Not only the movement, but also the design of this first model have shaped the watches that followed. Master Control was not born until 1992 under a very unusual corporate strategy. While other luxury watch brands relied on the stringent chronometer certificate (for particularly high accuracy) from the Swiss testing authority COSC, the Master Control from JLC was subjected to an even tougher internal testing procedure. Before delivery, every single watch was subjected to various tests lasting 41 days and 16 hours. The watch had to withstand targeted shocks, magnetic fields, changing temperatures, etc. before being sold. Thus, not only the movement, but the entire watch was put under extreme tests. Nowadays the Master Control is available in different versions, as here with a moon calendar showing the phases of the moon. The model has a diameter of 39mm and a rather unusual lug width of 21mm.

The dark blue color of the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control moon calendar can be combined very well with a blue strap. With the Dyster-Blue Nato Strap the elegant watch looks modern and fits ideally to a leisure outfit with sneakers. The matt red-brown Kopparmynt-Brown leather strap gives it a particularly high-quality appeal.
