The MoonSwatch from Swatch x Omega

In March 2022, Swatch caused news in the watch world. The Swiss watchmaker had partnered with subsidiary Omega and redesigned one of the most iconic timepieces: the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, which was the first wristwatch on the moon.

The newly created clock, which MoonSwatch was baptized, has the same dimensions as the well-known model from Omega. The tachymeter bezel with the so-called "Dot over 90" and the dials with a radial design were also taken from the famous model. Some versions of the MoonSwatch also adopt elements of coveted Speedmaster models such as the hands of the "Alaska Project" watch in the Mission to Mars variant.
Unlike the Omega watch, the cases of the MoonSwatch are made of Bioceramic. According to Swatch, this mixture consists of two-thirds ceramic and one-third plastic. It is particularly light and can be produced in different colours. The MoonSwatch is available in a total of eleven color versions, such as Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Earth, Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury and Moon. A clear difference to the Omega Moonwatch is the movement. Swatch uses a Quartz chronograph caliber, which is also used in other Swatch watches. It is assumed that this is the ETA G10.212. Therefore, the totalizers are located at 2, 10 and 6 o'clock.
