about the Grand Seiko

The first Grand Seiko was introduced to the market in 1960. It was based on intensive research and development with the aim of producing a mechanical wristwatch that was as precise and durable as possible. The first caliber 3180 had an accuracy of +12 and -3 seconds per day, which corresponded to excellent values in the 1960s. Spurred on by the success of the first Grand Seiko, the 44GS was launched in 1967. At the time, it had the highest precision of any hand-wound mechanical watch in the world and made the Grand Seiko a real icon. The movement has since been further developed in terms of accuracy, durability and power reserve to exceed the highest standards. In the 1990s, the new Grand Seiko 9S passed the tests of the official Swiss chronometer testing institute COSC and achieved a power reserve of 72 hours (3 days) as early as 2006. Thanks to continuous further developments, the mechanical 9S caliber of the Grand Seiko is one of the finest mechanical movements in the world.

The Grand Seiko is not only an icon in the watch world from a mechanical point of view. Its design has always appealed to watch lovers and inspires with its uncompromisingly simple style. Watch straps that are just as simple can be perfectly combined with the Grand Seiko. The brown patina-brown leather strap does not distract from the unique design of the watch either with a conspicuous seam or with an elaborate pattern. Rather, it underlines the concise history of this icon in an authentic vintage style. Depending on the color of the dial or the hands, a color-coordinated suede watch strap can be perfectly combined with the Grand Seiko.
