About the Rolex Air King

The Rolex Air King is one of the most famous watch models from the renowned Swiss manufacturer Rolex. The history of the clock goes back to year 1945, when Rolex introduced the Air King range as part of its Professional line. The idea behind the Air King was to have a reliable and precise watch for pilots to create one that is tailored to their navigation needs. The Air King originally had a smaller case and simpler dial compared to other Rolex models, but it was still robust and accurate. During the 1950s, the Air King was updated with a larger body and more distinctive styling, leading to it becoming very popular with non-aviators as well.

In 2007, the Air King was completely redesigned and given a new design based on the classic models of the 1950s. The new Air King has been updated with a larger case, a more eye-catching face and modern technology to meet the demands of modern life. The watch was also water-resistant and fitted with an automatic caliber movement that offered a power reserve of up to 48 hours.

The Rolex Air King has gone through a number of variations over the years, including models with different straps, dial colors and bezels. Some of the most famous Air King models are the References 5500 and 14000, which are very popular with collectors. Overall, the Rolex Air King is an icon of Swiss watchmaking and remains a popular model for pilots and watch enthusiasts around the world to this day.
